4. The overview#
In this chapter you see every session as a live card and open one with a click or a tap.
Open and close#
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Open or close the overview | Ctrl+Alt+O, or the command palette entry Overview |
| On a touch screen | Swipe up with three fingers; swipe down to close |
| From the pie menu | Panes, then Overview (down right) |
| Close | Escape |
Each card shows the live terminal of one session, from all tabs. Cards update while programs run.
Find a session#
- Type to search. The search matches the session name, its title, and the text on its screen.
- Press 1–9 to open one of the first nine cards.
- Cards that got new output or rang the bell since you last looked carry a small marker.
Open a session#
Click or tap a card twice, or select it and press Enter. If the session is part of a split, mpmux shows the whole split first and then grows the pane to fill the tab. You see where the session lives.
Arrange the canvas#
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Zoom | Ctrl+scroll, or pinch on a touch screen |
| Pan | Scroll, or drag the empty canvas |
| Jump to a place | Click or drag in the minimap at the lower right |
| Back to the start | Reset view in the header |
In auto layout, drag a card left or right to change the order. Turn auto layout off to place cards anywhere. mpmux remembers your arrangement.
